Hazardous Task - Risk Method of Control
Access roof space All balloons are helium filled so the
arch will float - no access to roof
space is required. The arch is not hung
from the ceiling.
Helium Balloon Gas All balloons are helium filled at our
offices and transported inflated. Helium
is an inert gas.
Access to Hall 4 The floating balloon arch will be
placed in Hall 4's lift, moved along Hall 4's
corridor,into Hall 4. balloon.com staff
will be at each end of the arch at all
times whilst it is being transported.
Weighted balloon arch To ensure the arch will not accidently
float up onto any ceiling it will be
weighted at both ends with sand.
If the arch does float onto the ceiling
we can remove it with ladders / or it
will naturally stop floating after 24 hours.
Site Control
Inspection of Equipment All equipment to build the arch will be
used at our own premises. Only the
helium filled balloons will be delivered.
Customer Awareness The customer will be made aware of all
potential dangers throughout the contract.
